World College Radio Day 2017

This is an invitation to take part in a worldwide radio movement, a celebration of our very own media, student and college radio on World College Radio Day 2017 on Friday, October 6th! WCRD17 is a special 24-hour event during which student radio stations from all around the globe come together to share their passion and love for great music and even greater radio, from the people to the people, and to let others know about the importance of student radio in media diversity and that we are global and many!

Each year WCRD has a special theme for participating stations to build on. The theme for WCRD17 is set and waiting for your interpretations and contributions:

The End of the World as We Know It?
the World is going through a turmoil of changes and insecurity is everywhere in politics, economy and the environment. People are getting more and more suspicious of their fellow humans and walls, both mental and physical, are being built. What can student radio do about it? Should we be reporting, be reactive or proactive? Or are we going to feel just fine?

The stations can participate and show their support in many ways: joining the 24-hour marathon online broadcast, having a party at the studio, mentioning about participation on social media or the guys at the campus cafeteria or just by playing bloody great tunes. Make WCRD17 your day!

Registration is absolutely FREE and comes with nice perks, such as a one year license for Hindenburg Broadcaster software, RadioJar subscription discounts, a set of WCRD17 jingles, extra amount of public awareness and attention, social media graphics as well as a chance to be part in WCRD17 24-hour stream, going from one country to another, hour by hour. This year the marathon will be hosted by K103 Göteborg, first time in Sweden!

The more we are, the louder the voice we have so don’t hesitate, just registrate by visiting www.worldcollegeradioday.com
