Welcome to the NCRA Maureen and Guillaume – our Local Journalism Coordinators

Hello Members

There are 22 community stations participating across the country in the Local Journalism Initiative that is being run through the Community Radio Fund of Canada.  As part of our support to the program, we are hosting two staff at the NCRA/ANREC office until at least March 2021 to help stations complete the project.
They will be creating material for training, facilitating the program and helping the stations to complete their grants.  We encourage you to reach out and say hi, they are experts in news and journalism and can provide advice outside of the LJI.
Maureen McEwan grew up in the mountains of British Columbia, but she’s been grateful for the opportunities to live and work from coast-to-coast. She worked in university administration in Nova Scotia for a few years and collected degrees in political science. As a multimedia journalist, she’s worked for Postmedia-Alberta, CBC Radio, the National Film Board, iPolitics, the Hill Times and the Ottawa Business Journal. Two important details: She’s a lifelong radio listener and a serious coffee lover.Guillaume Dumont has been a journalist since 2010. After obtaining a BA in Letters from UQAR, he worked as a journalist for Radio-Canada / CBC News at stations in Rimouski, Matane, Saskatoon, and Ottawa. He specializes in investigative journalism and organized crime.

Please feel free to send any questions our way. Guillaume can be reached at guillaume at ncra.ca and Maureen can be reached at maureen at ncra.ca.
