Montreal, March 5th, 2017. The 60 Second Radio international contest is pleased to announce that the National Campus and Community Radio Association of Canada (NCRA/ANREC), Phonugia Nova & l’École des Médias (ÉDM) will be official partners of this Canadian and world radio production event. Over the past two years, the NCRA and the ÉDM have given their support to the 60secondradio.ca contest and broadcast project, by opening their networks to the organization, as well as being part of the jury. This year, they will also act as official partners of the contest. Phonurgia Nova (France), which we’ve been admiring for years from abroad, has also confirmed its support.
“Our partnership with the NCRA/ANREC is essential to this Canadian initiative, and we are pleased that we can resonate with radio producers from all provinces and territories. The 60secondradio.ca project has always been one of collaboration and innovative radio production. It is important to stay close to the Canadian community and campus radio stations as we work towards national and intercultural collaborative projects and radio exchanges.” said Boris Chassagne, Contest Director. According to the NCRA’S Executive Director, Barry Rooke, “We are thrilled to continue to help grow and showcase the talent of campus, college and community radio developers from around the world. The opportunity to share what is produced and aired at an international level is very important and we are happy to help make this opportunity a possibility”.
L’École des médias of the Québec University in Montréal has also announced its second-year participation as a sponsor, the third as a jury member. «The director of the Media School, Mr. Martin l’Abbé, has been a great supporter and jury for this international contest since its inception. We, at 60secondradio.ca are of course pleased to collaborate with one of the most important media schools in Canada, as we consider universities as being important hubs for innovation and creativity. Youth give us drive and push ideas forward» said Boris Chassagne.
The Phonurgia Nova organization is a new partner of the 60 Second Radio contest and is a specialist of radio art, fictions and documentaries and so much more. «Its reputation goes far beyond the limits of the countries geography and 60 Second Radio could not be more thrilled to have them jump on board» said Boris Chassagne, contest director. «For 30 years, Phonurgia Nova has been defending radio art, exploring its memory and supporting authors who renew its codes. We are pleased to be joining this new edition of the 60” Radio, through a 15-day residence that will be offered in Arles in 2017 to one of the future winners …» added Marc Jacquin, Development Director at Phonurgia Nova.
Many more partnerships will be announced over the next few weeks. But for now, this years contest participants will have complete freedom as no particular theme is imposed in this 3rd edition! Moreover, the contest is again open to all styles of radio production. Fiction, portraits, sound art, poetry, satire, prose, collage, radio art, environmental works, creative, exploded burlesque comedy, everything can be explored, provided it’s precisely 60 Seconds in length and very creative! …
